Red Letter Christians UK is a relational network for those who want to live for Jesus and Justice. Our focus is connecting and supporting Christian activists and community leaders across the UK. We aim to provide practical tools for developing advocacy and organising skills alongside deepening spiritual resilience. We seek out spiritual and tactical resonance, creating opportunities to pursue justice together. We aim to amplify prophetic voices from the margins who bring spiritual depth, experience and a healthy dose of challenge to national conversations.
WE CONNECT, NOT DIVIDE
We want to be an open-handed network for people already living out a Jesus-centred approach to poverty, injustice, exclusion and social need in our communities. We’re not interested in calling people OUT of existing churches, organisations or networks – we want to play a part in helping forge new and deeper connections amongst like-minded Jesus followers.
Our great desire is to inspire those who might be new to this vision of Jesus and justice, whether young or old, churched, un-churched or ex-churched. We’d love to help you meet co-conspirators and embrace what we believe is an essential part of a compassionate life lived with Jesus.
We plan to creatively facilitate multiple contexts where connection can happen, from networking events and retreats, to online forums and creative, grassroots collaborations.
WE AMPLIFY THE VOICES OF COMMUNITY-BASED ACTIVISTS, THINKERS & COMMUNICATORS
Many across the UK pour out their lives each day out of love for their communities and in response to Jesus’ words, we’re calling ‘red letters.’ These are usually the kinds of people who may not be well known, but we think the UK needs to hear their voices, wisdom and experience.
We want to promote greater understanding of Jesus-centred justice by amplifying the voices of Red Letter grassroots activists, thinkers and communicators, through public actions and campaigns, story-telling and challenges to church and culture rooted in Jesus’ Red Letters.
We’ll do this through creating spaces, public events and shared prophetic actions, blogs, podcasts, press and social media. We’ll help raise awareness of issues we agree Jesus really cares about and also point to those offering a beautiful response, wherever we see it.
WE HELP PEOPLE GROW INTO THEIR CALLING
We’d love to help young or old emerging leaders, especially those from communities often side-lined or excluded, to be fully supported to shine the light for Jesus and justice in their communities and beyond. We have so much to learn from diversity and dialogue.
We’ll sign-post to multiple opportunities for learning, training and involvement across a wide range of offerings from multiple churches, groups, educational institutions and organisations across the UK.
