Living for Jesus and Justice

We are looking for inspiring British people and UK events.

At Red Letter Christians we are embarking on a UK version of Common Prayer, the liturgy for ordinary radicals compiled by Shane Claiborne and Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove.

Many of us benefit from this daily office. But we also recognise that it is focused on the US. In particular, its calendar of significant events has a very American edge.

So we want to compile a calendar of British saints and significant events connected with the movement for justice on these islands. And we’d like your help. Who are the British Christians who have inspired you in your quest for justice, the inspiring people you have looked to in your life, the events that mark a significant milestone in the coming of justice in our nations? We are sticking to those who have now passed on to glory.

Please email our editor Simon Jones (simon@peacefulborders.org) with suggestions. We would like to compile a list of 366 people and events to fill the calendar in our book of liturgies for ordinary British radicals. We will probably keep some from the original (so let us know which ones resonate with you) but we want to fill that list out with British people and events.

Red Letter Christians UK is a relational network for those who want to live for Jesus and Justice. Our focus is connecting and supporting Christian activists and community leaders across the UK. We aim to provide practical tools for developing advocacy and organising skills alongside deepening spiritual resilience. We seek out spiritual and tactical resonance, creating opportunities to pursue justice together. We aim to amplify prophetic voices from the margins who bring spiritual depth, experience and a healthy dose of challenge to national conversations.
